Cherries are well known for helping gout sufferers.
May be due to anthocyanins, which are compounds that add colour to many fruit and veg.
Black bean broth seems to have similar effect and also rich in anthocyanins.

These foods contain 10mg or more Iron per 100g food. Iron has been linked with gout. Specifically, shortage of iron has been shown to reduce gout.

Following the discussion about gout and iron, here is a list of foods reported to have no iron content.
Be careful, as I suspect some of these, e.g. the soups are not zero iron, but simply have not had the iron content reported. I need to see if there is an easy way to filter these [...]
