Firstly, you must realise that this site is just for my working notes, so I can keep track of what I’m working on. You will get much more information, and a much faster response, by posting in the Forum at GoutPal Interactive (see links on the right).

Most importantly, you must realise that I run my websites to help gout sufferers. I have no medical qualifications, so the advice I give is how to understand gout experiences and how to interpret medical and other advice.

Of course, I am also delighted to be able to help gout carers, including students. However I need much more information about the context of your question. Also, please remember that you are dealing with lay people in myself and my readers. Terms like “ASA” and “s.uric acid” need a clearer definition so that we don’t all end up getting even more confused.

Therapeutic colchicine dose:

In this case report, acute pancreatitis occurred in an elderly man with pre-existing renal impairment after two days of oral colchicine 1 mg daily for gout in the big toe.

From colchicine causes acute pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas) full report.
