I am GoutPal, and I run GoutPal.com
I use this blog to track what I am working on, so I don’t lose it.
I used to do this, and more, on a privately hosted WordPress blog, but the useless host (UK2) let me down so I tried this as an alternative. It works well for what I want, but has some limitations. If you are thinking of starting a blog, and would like some advice from somebody who can explain the strengths and weaknesses of different options, please let me know. I’ll be happy to share my experiences with you.
If you have gout, and need some help, it is best to browse my main gout website, but comments here are equally appreciated.
2008 Update
My gout blog is running again, with a brand new gout forum. You can take part in the forum without registering. It is the best place to ask any questions about gout, or share your opinions and experiences.
I’ve decided to keep this WordPress.com blog running, as I find it helps to keep the pre-production stuff away from the main websites. Avid GoutPal fans can see what is probably coming up, and prompt me if I don’t get things completed soon enough.
2009 Update
The long-contemplated move for GoutPal.com is now underway. New platform. New layout. Best of all – new gouty features.
I will report plans and progress here as the GoutPal.com 2009 Roadmap.
The best gout information is at GoutPal.com
Talk about gout in the gout forum
hi sir.I am iraqi board student, in my final year, iam intrested in the subject of effect of low dose ASA on s.uric acid,so I am inneed of all recommendations and adviceses.I will be thankful.
Firstly, you must realise that this site is just for my working notes, so I can keep track of what I’m working on. You will get much more information, and a much faster response, by posting in the Forum at GoutPal Interactive (see links on the right).
Most importantly, you must realise that I run my websites to help gout sufferers. I have no medical qualifications, so the advice I give is how to understand gout experiences and how to interpret medical and other advice.
Of course, I am also delighted to be able to help gout carers, including students. However I need much more information about the context of your question. Also, please remember that you are dealing with lay people in myself and my readers. Terms like “ASA” and “s.uric acid” need a clearer definition so that we don’t all end up getting even more confused.
